Spooktacular Mathematical Thinking - from Mrs. Denton
The 6th grade Accelerated Math students wrapped up their unit on ratios, rates, unit rates, and percentages with a hands-on research project that brought math to life! Students designed and conducted their own Halloween themed surveys using Google Forms and collected real data from their peers and teachers.
They analyzed their results by creating ratio tables, pie graphs, tape diagrams, and coordinate charts, applying their classroom learning to real-world scenarios.
On Monday, they proudly showcased their hard work during a gallery walk, presenting their findings to parents, fellow 6th graders, teachers, and administrators.
This project challenged students to think critically, communicate clearly, and connect mathematics to meaningful, real-world situations. A true celebration of creativity, problem solving, and our on-going journey as Saints Under Construction!
