Dear Parents,

What are we learning this week?

Math: This week we are finishing up Chapter 12!  We are also going to continue to practice graphing and sorting.

Religion: This week we will start Chapter 21: The Three Days.  Holy Thursday we have several learning activities planned that will help the students have a better understanding of the three days leading up to Easter.

Science: This week we will contine Science Unit: Seeing, Hearing, Smelling, and Touching like a Scientist. We will conduct experiments with our rocks and continue to explore different ways in which we can “think like a scientist”.

Handwriting: Please continue to review letters and letter formation, we will continue to review in class.

Phonics: We will continue Unit 4 of Phonics.  We will continue to review and assess snap words.  Please make sure that your child can write and identify each snap word on the current list!  We will gradually add more over the next few weeks.  I will send an updated list home this Wednesday in the Folders.

Reading: This week we will continue to read independently, with partners, and in small groups.  The kids are doing a wonderful job with reading!  We will read books this week about spring and continue to read “how-to” books.

Writing: We will continue Unit 3.  In this unit the students will write “How To” books!  Stay tuned for more details!  As expected, the children are doing an AMAZING job with this!!!!  We will be working on a special project this week in writing for the incoming Kindergarteners!

Homework:  No Homework, please practice SNAP words.
