It is hard to believe we have entered our last month of the school year. Along with the great weather, we have a lot to celebrate in the coming weeks. From First Communion for our second graders this weekend to graduation for our eighth graders at the end of the month, and many special events in between, it will be a fun and busy month. Please be sure to keep an eye on the calendar and join us for as many events as you are able.
Congratulations to two of our students for winning a gold ribbon for a perfect score at the Bellarmine Speech Meet this weekend. Congratulations to two of our students for winning blue ribbons. You represented our school well and should be very proud of your efforts! We also want to thank Ms. Seper and Mrs. Shaver-Krus for all of their help coaching and preparing our students for Bellarmine Speech this year.

St. Gabriel Board Of Education Election for 2018
Our community is fortunate to have seven applicants for open positions on the Board of Education. The Board wishes to thank all applicants for their interest in the Board and willingness to serve in this capacity. There are three elected positions open each year. Msgr. Shamleffer appoints a fourth person to the board each year.
Please take the time to review the candidates, learn about their reasons for interest and how they can contribute to the Board of Education.
You may vote for three candidates. Please only vote ONE time – either online (see link in eblast/below) OR on a paper ballot (see attached.) Paper copies will also be available in the church bulletin and sent home in the Wednesday folder on April 18. Paper ballots can be submitted in the weekend offertory, the rectory, or to the school office (in envelope labeled “Board of Education Ballot”.)

SIGN UP GENIUS
Looking forward to another awesome parish picnic on Saturday, June 9! Please sign up to work one of the fun-filled Tamm Avenue booths. The kids love the games and it is a great fundraising opportunity for St. Gabriel. We are asking each Gabe’s family to volunteer for a 1 hour shift between 10am-8pm. You are welcome to sign up for additional shifts throughout the day too. Please enter only one name per slot to eliminate confusion. Also, youth age 12+ years old are encouraged to volunteer (scouts, sports teams, high schoolers in need of service hours, etc.). Contact Tiffany Harmon with any questions at firstname.lastname@example.org or 314-779-6294. Thank you for your help at St. Gabriel’s Parish Picnic!
We are expecting that each family will volunteer at least 1 hour to help. Please feel free to sign up for more.
Anyone 12 or over in the parish can volunteer to work a booth. They just need to sign up on SIGN UP GENIUS
Any St. Gabe’s or high school students in need of service hours can volunteer for one or multiple shifts.
A letter for service hour records will be kept at the command booth for volunteers to obtain after their shift.
Thank you for your help!
The 8th grade class of 2018 will be sponsoring a Smoothie King Day! The order form is attached. Please have order forms and money turned into the office by Monday, May 7th.
